Need Parts?

We are a full service Cub Cadet dealer and have been for all our 54 years in business. What does that mean to you? We've got the knowledge to help you get your mower running in tip top shape, no matter the age. It also means we carry a large inventory of Cub Cadet parts, from parts for brand new Ultima series mowers to the original Cub Farmall.

What do you need to make sure you get the right parts the first time?

First things first, if you've purchased your Cub from us, the easy answer is nothing. We keep a record of all we need to get you the right parts for your mower you purchased from us. Just let the Parts Associate know you purchased it from us and give him your name, and he'll get to the right parts book.

Didn't purchase it from us?

That's ok, we can still get you the parts you need. We just need a bit more information from you to make sure we get the right parts for you.

The image above is a photo of the serial number tag on a new Cub Cadet. It is most often found under the seat but can be under a hood, or near the seat. The manufacturer model number, in this case 17RIEAC3010, is the number that is needed to make sure we can get you the right parts the first time. In rare cases we may need the the serial number, so it is usually best to snap a photo of your tag and just keep it on your phone.

In the case your tag is no longer on your mower. We will need at the very least the basic model number (Z-Force 44, LTX1054, 782, etc.), an approximate model year and the engine manufacturer and HP. Usually with this info we can get you what you need.

When Do You Need New Blades?

When blades lose their edge, they can be re-sharpened, but at a certain point they will have worn too much that they will need to be replaced. It goes beyond just the cut, but can become a safety issue. When you see even a little bit of wear on the back side of the blade, the raised portion, the blade should be replaced as the raised "tab" could break of and become a projectile. Below is an image of a new blade (front), a blade that needs to be replaced (middle) and one that was dangerous and should have been replaced long before it got to that point (back).

Excessive sharpening will also reduce the cutting edge to a point wear it will no longer cut well, even though it is sharp. a simple rule of thumb is 1-2 sharpening's is all a blade will be able to take before it needs replacing, depending on the model of mower, more on commercial grade, less on residential models.

A quick note on sharpening... Razor sharp will simply wear your edge quicker. If you've ever felt the cutting edge on a new blade, it is more like a butter knife than a razor. That's the kind of edge you're looking for as it will cut just as well and last a lot longer.

What else should you look at?

Always check your Operators Manual, but here a few quick tips on things to do to make sure your mower is good to go for the summer. If you don't have your operator manual, you can find it online here.

  • Make sure you change your oil and filter at least once a year.
  • Change Air Filter and Fuel Filter every 2 years
  • Replace any belts that you see cracking in. Nothing worse than having to replace a belt that broke in the middle of mowing.
  • Grease all grease points at least once a year. See your operators manual for a list of points that need grease.
  • To avoid future headaches always use Premium gas and make sure you use conditioner for when your mower will sit for a while (like over winter).
    • Easiest thing to do is to put conditioner in your gas can every time you fill it up, that way you don't have to remember to do it for the winter.
